1). Revenge because they didn't marry the cute girl / handsome guy they wanted so badly in high school. They settled, because hey...it's better than being alone, but in their heart of hearts they still imagine what it would have been like if Cindy Lou Who had accepted their invitation to the prom.

2). Revenge because they're working in some crap job because they never had the balls to go out and fight for what they really wanted in life

3). Revenge because they saw someone in the supermarket buying "steak and lobster and cake" and tonight they are having that shitty blue box mac and cheese for dinner and maybe some Twinkies for dessert

4). Revenge because some uppity buck got elected president and then turned right around and did it again

5). Revenge because they didn't know one goddamned thing about being a parent and they had kids anyway and now they have these "things" around the house that they loathe because they have to feed them, clothe them, and they are starting to experiment with sex, drugs, smoking and alcohol and probably have all kinds of contraband hidden in their rooms.

And so on, and so forth, ad infinitum.
