The silver lining here is the one that was completely stupid and irresponsible was the one who paid the price and not the 4 yr old.

Republicans don't get things until it happens to them, and sometimes not even then.

When I get Republican clients, they usually think their case should be excepted from tort reform because unlike most of my cases, theirs is legitimate. I don't mince words at that point. I tell them they were used and the intent of tort reform was always about stopping legitimate cases, not frivolous ones. Trial attorneys screen their cases to the best of their ability because we only get paid if our client settles or wins. For this reason, and the fact that judges throw out cases without merit, there is not a problem with frivolous cases. Some get it and others are in denial about what I say. Either way I do take satisfaction when I tell them that they voted for the law to protect the corporation or doctor from lawsuits like theirs.

Maybe, since they already had him playing with guns they also taught him how to read, and he read that gun in the home is most likely to shoot someone who lives there.

He was standing his crib, defending himself. A good baby with a gun.
