They Live | Based on a True Story - 2016

#t=182.517199751 Director John Carpenters 80's sci-fi masterpiece based upon the book " Eight O'clock in the Morning". This analysis of the film will blow your mind as you see the comparisons to life today. The movie is, of course, sci-fi and based upon a hypothetical alien race, but the similarity to the elite that control the world today is remarkably similar. Its interesting to listen to the narrator go through the different aspects of the world we currently live in.

Right up there with 1984. A masterfully crafted flick.

The movie might be considered a cult classic by some, but this video clip is totally tin foil hat material.

As far as Illuminati goes, one can take it or leave it. In a sense, that is what the fight scene is about and why it is so long. It metaphorically implies how difficult it is to get the truth out. I did point out it is a fictional sic-fi movie by the way.

It sure seemed that way back in the 80's when we all first saw this.

There are a LOT of people who thought they could get rich if they became Right Wingers and hippie types who suddenly started wearing a suit and tie were considered sell outs.

been a big fan of sci-fi, but I'm beginning to appreciate it more and more. Love the idea of the long, seemingly unending fight scene--too true!

11. It is definitely a movie worth watching at least once.

It has a very populist, struggling-through-recession working-class perspective, combined with the suspicion of 80's consumer culture, and that damn fight!!

The original short story the movie is based on is actually pretty short, and slightly different. They definitely did their own thing with it, and did it well.

This weekend should be fun, I'm showing the movie to a friend who's never seen it. Pass the bong!
