(8,333 posts)As a birder, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Also embarrased myself by getting the ID wrong ... twice. LOL!
It's a female house finch.

(202 posts)I was thinking maybe it is a female yellow warbler.
(Sorry to be off-topic, but not knowing is making me crazy! Thanks!)

(8,333 posts)The bird turned around briefly and it had a classic finch bill, whereas warblers have slender bills.
But it is fun to speculate about the bird's identity! I got it wrong twice until I was able to convince myself it was a female house finch based on other comments.

(2,569 posts)Then this video had me screaming out loud and clapping....
Alone in my house on an early Saturday evening, feeling just a wee bit crazy.....
And man, when he smiles, it's genuineness socks me right in the heart.
And I think, this man, this man - is THE ONE!
Wtf? I've been a Poly Wonk for 30 years..never felt like this about any leader, much less a politician.
What is this feeling? I'm 51, and I can't pinpoint exactly what this feeling is. It's a swelling of a mass of feelings.... So strong it feels physical.
I think I know...
It's how people felt watching Martin Luther, JFK, and FDR, speak LIVE.
And no matter what happens, I am so grateful I was able to hear a man of profound greatness, integrity, passion, sincerity and strength - fight for the people in my lifetime, finally.
With this joy, there is also a heavy sadness. It took 50 years for another man to stand up and fight like this!
If it slips through are fingers now, will there be another one in our lifetimes? Sadly, I feel the answer is "no", and I'm positive there won't be in my lifetime.

(1,820 posts)How we felt when Martin or John spoke...hell it is how I felt when Jimi and Janis sang. It is when you see someone who is willing to fight for you...share with you and laugh with you. When you know they are real and not hiding behind a mask or an agenda.
I am old and have wept often in my time here - sometimes in joy and sometimes deep sorrow. I am glad to be weeping with you this day in joy and hope.
Love wins and we are all brave and hopeful deep deep down.

(20,822 posts)feel the same way, you've expressed it perfectly. And I've also never seen young people (which, at my age, means anyone younger than 45, lol) so fired up and excited over any candodate, ever. My son is almost 25 and he and his friends are over the moon for him, I've never seen anything like it. It also makes my heart hurt to think what will happen if he doesn't get the nomination. In that case, I hope he'll be the running mate.

(6,344 posts)They saw my Bernie yard sign and called out to me as I was in the driveway. They were smiling, hanging out of the windows, with one arm outstretched holding a fist ---
"Revolution! GO BERNIE!!!" they shouted out to me. It was quite a moment! I shouted back with my fist of solidarity -- "GO BERNIE!"
I think all my neighbors heard the exchange!
I am still smiling from ear-to-ear.

Senate to recruit more real Progressives -- among other things. He'd be wasted as V-P.

(6,344 posts)Thank you for sharing your special experience. I feel it too and it is wonderful to share this with you and others here on DU. The video of Washington victory today had me standing and clapping and cheering with tears flowing. The internet experience is powerful. What a gift to share a moment like that with 1000's of others at the same time from our homes!
Bernie is a once in lifetime gem. I cherish being a part of it in living-time.

I felt it. I was there for the birdie event. The feeling you are looking to describe was palpable in the arena. Joy. Shared emotion. An "aha" moment, or "eureka" perhaps. We have found it. The one.

You would think that media would recognize the spouse of one of the only two democratic candidates. But nooo. It's very telling.

(5,668 posts)and from the feel of it Clintons thought either it would be a good chance there or it would be a tight race, thus blunting the blow from Hawaii. oddly Hawaii was the better state of the nite for the. 69 % compared to 72 % Washinton and now 81 % in Alaska
If Donald were actually to run Alaska could flip blue there are many states that might flip blue if Donald were running and Bernie wins. and good for Jane
