(307 posts)They will try to deny Bernie air time at any cost. It is now the people versus the establishment. They give air time to the ones that serve their interests. Hence Hillary and Trump are their darlings. We live in a propaganda age like no other.

The people versus the establishment..
stupidicus
(2,570 posts)and who is most likely to pursue that goal?
It's really little diff from Dean in 2004 proclaiming that he was gonna pursue busting up the media conglomerates as his first act as pres, other than the diff between an explicit v implicit threat to their bottom lines.

(10,539 posts)If Bernie and the rest of us are successful, there will be a lot of little media companies competing again. That part is not much different than Dean, just that Bernie has been harder to knock out! Bernie is helped by the timing. More people are hurting from the machinations of the powerful elite Plutocrats. They are realizing that it's the Plutocrats/corporations fault and not who they have been told to blame.
Despite Citizens United and the big consolidation down to six media companies, they cannot seem to be able to afford exit polls, news staffs at overseas offices etc., things they used to have and do. They just have no need since they make it up, or just repeat what people say without question or investigation. Cuts down on the overhead and maintains "access."

(110,260 posts)Even WA only has 7 million people.
So Hillary is still about 250 delegates ahead of him, but that's not because the system is rigged.
dchill
(42,660 posts)35 of Washington's delegates have yet to be awarded. Not sure why, but I'm sure you'd want to know that.

(4,695 posts)pnwmom
(110,260 posts)and there are 101 pledged delegates in WA.
To calculate his net win, you have to subtract the number of her delegates from the number of his. he won about 73% of the vote. So (approximately) 73 minus (approximately) 27 = his net gain in WA.
The other states are very low in population so he will gain even fewer delegates.
dchill
(42,660 posts)It's just confusing to first talk about 3 states, then 1 state, then amounts of delegates netted...
Despite that, I wonder about 35 delegates not yet awarded, and what the superdelegates will do.
pnwmom
(110,260 posts)a proportional division of the election results.
And the super delegates in WA are still supporting Hillary. For one thing, we have a primary coming up in another two months, which, historically, includes three times as many voters. Why should they desert her because of a caucus attended by only 5% of the eligible voters?

(24,324 posts)In every possible way one can imagine.
pnwmom
(110,260 posts)but I don't hear many Bernie supporters complaining about that -- only a 5.3% turnout in the record setting year of 2008.
Dustlawyer
(10,539 posts)isn't a rigged system? The media are all part of the "Establishment!" They are owned by the Establishment as are most D.C. Politicians. Hillary represents the Establishment and is funded by them and made extremely wealthy by them.
DWS and the DNC has been fair to Bernie?
I don't like Hillary, she sold out long ago and has lied her butt off, but I also don't believe there was anything to Benghazi or even the private server. I try to retain objectivity because I would only be fooling myself if I didn't try to just call balls and strikes.
Bernie has had every disadvantage thrown at him from the start. The media and the DNC has been brutal to him. I knew it would be this way and that he and the rest of us would have to do everything in our power to try and overcome. I am very proud of my candidate, but if he loses, Bernie and the rest of us are not going away! This is a movement, one that is taking on the richest and most powerful people/corporations on Earth. We expect everything to be rigged against us. This message will continue to spread and the movement will continue to grow. Hillary or Trump, either will prove why we need to fight corporate rule!

(10,539 posts)Bernie has been dismissed, his record distorted and lied about, and everything in the kitchen sink. Not apples to apples for sure. I know you disagree.
am delightfully shocked and pleased. Mika sounds actually annoyed at the Clinton coronation. Thanks for posting

(3,014 posts)His message has been the same for decades. The same message he's touting this election. He hasnt waivered from that message in 30 years.
Yet here you are saying he's running on not being Hillary? Okay...that would make his 30 year message about not being Hillary.
How soon DU Hillary supporters forget...Bernie has been a DU favorite for years. DU is how I discovered Bernie long ago when I first came to DU 12 years ago. DU has ALWAYS loved Bernie.
The only reason DU Hillary supporters don't like him now is because he's running against Hillary. From that sentiment is born all the smearing about his message, about his wife, about his age, about not being a woman (yes I went there you misandrisitic assholes...gimme a Warren and shove your Hillary where the sun don't shine), about his age, about his mannerisms, about his supporters.
So quickly these democrats forget the longheld respect Bernie has had here.
Keep poopooing Bernie and his supporters. We remain the lefties. Y'all are republicans in sheeps clothing.
