Published on Jun 11, 2012 by GuestworkerAlliance

PLEASE SIGN to end forced labor on the Walmart supply chain in Louisiana!

A look inside the C.J.'s Seafood plant in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where guestworkers on H-2B visas have been subjected to forced labor, threats against themselves and their families, constant surveillance, wage theft, and discrimination -- from which Walmart has profited.

So Walmart is still up to its old tricks in regard to its workers. A few years back it came out that Walmart was locking its night janitorial force (mostly Latinos) inside until morning to allegedly stop theft. This inhumane policy (who cares if a fire breaks out or someone gets sick) was enforced until it came to light but I see the corporation is still using humiliating tactics in regards to it's workers. The testimony in this video is the type of treatment that African Americans from past times, and in some cases, still, are long familiar with. It also typifies what capitalism in its most naked form will always resort to to maximize profit . . . pay workers as little as possible and hire jackbooted (not literally I hope) thugs to dehumanize people and enforce iron-fisted rules in a hostile work environment. And then we have "fooled and foolish" low-information workers voting against unionization (in Wisconsin most recently) that could fight against this inhumanity. God this country is in trouble if the repugs get back in. They'll force in legislation that will steer us all to work in these forced worker kind of environments with no unions for protection. And the right wing majority on the SCOTUS will legitimize their maneuvers at every turn. VOTE AGAINST THIS IN NOVEMBER. RE-ELECT THE PRESIDENT.
