Bernie supporters shower Hillary Clinton's motorcade with $1 dollar bills

Sanders crowd showers Clinton car with dollar bills
A group of around 100 Bernie Sanders supporters showered Hillary Clinton's motorcade in 1,000 single-dollar bills as the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate drove to a fundraiser with George and Amal Clooney on Saturday.

This party-brand shit has to go. Its serving as a cover for high-finance corporate politics.

Sanders is willing to support downticket progressives. His candidacy is based on the question of whether the Democratic Party will field such candidates instead of the lame corporatists they usually do. Its no different than the conditions Sanders has placed on support of Clinton is she gets the party nomination.

FWIW, BOTH parties obstruct what Americans want. That's why Dems went to the superdelegate system, to smother disloyalty to the party brand (policies and principles be damned). Just look at DWS: She is a creature created by the Third Way establishment who would feel right at home in the Bush-era Republican party. She even ran some far-right Republicans against Democrats in Florida in a program designed to "welcome" the Right into the Democratic party.

You say Bernie is willing to support progressive down-ticket candidates but the dem party is only promoting the lame corporatists they usually do.

Well why'd he join the Democratic Party and why the hell is he running at all.

He knew what the deal was when he threw his hat into the ring as a Democrat.

Everybody but you purist idealists know very well why? He joined the party opportunistically to get the national recognition on the TV debates under the Democratic Party brand he couldn't get running as an independent.

He's been an independent for forever but when he decides to run for president, all of a sudden he becomes a Democrat.

There's a word for that — user.

The charge of purism is laughable when virtually everything was on the agenda for privatization and deregulation during the Clinton administration.

Its a really tired tactic. Actual purists would be trying to nationalize myriad different industries, not just health insurance and the central bank.

It is the moneyed interests that have committed ideological hubris, in fact "purism". Its why Clinton can't even bring herself to support a carbon tax, which is already recognized in climatology circles as absolutely necessary to tackle global warming. She hasn't thought of a way to twist a "carbon tax" into a "tax reform" that makes her fatcat friends even richer.

"Work within the party, or else....?!" All the speeches about how "spoilers" are unacceptable in a two-party system?

Miss the mass migration out of the party to Independent?

Did you forget the rest of us have to LIVE with the decisions Dems make?

Take your idiotic loaded question and shove it.

There's really no excuse here: Even the Democratic party has a program to attract non-Democratic candidates (and their supporters) into the party. But oddly enough, its always aimed at Republicans and they don't get asked these kinds of questions. The program was twisted into a run-some-rightwingers-against-our-own-moderates program.

The Democrats are a machine that claim one-half of the electoral potential in this country. They actually have no right to be so two-faced about the big tent policy. They tout this policy when doting over their corporate donors, while they install a delegate system that prevents any "takeover" from the grass roots.

IOW, they have transformed into the Anti-democratic Oligarch party.

So this primary race represents, more than anything else, a chance.
