I'm not sure just how they took care of the problem, but I imagine that job had its sweet moments.
We have carpenter bees here. We would find these perfectly round holes in various parts of the house (including the front door). Turned out carpenter bees were busy burrowing for dry places to lay eggs. (We now have concrete siding, so the problem is not so prevalent, but I still see them flying around.

(11,843 posts)in a hole that the bees were using. It's doubtful that it was driven into place with a hammer, because there is absolutely no reason for a roofing nail to be hammered into a brick.
The hole may have be used to attach something to the wall that has been removed.
Remarkable that the bee can move something heavier than its body weight, but it is not a video of a bee doing demolition work.
