In fact, she acknowledged that she'd probably weigh the ticket down.

I'm no fan of Ms. Palin, but let's be fair here ...

Also, let's not forget that Trump made a big fuss about her endorsement.

They would make the perfect pair to ride the GOP over the cliff to oblivion!

Your points are absolutely right. Not only did she not appear to be actively looking for the VP spot on the ticket, she was a bit self-effacing in her own self-appraisal.

Palin's an easy target--more often than not, her thought process resembles a box of loose marbles--and it's easy to jump on the mockery badwagon. But I don't like it when facts are fudged, regardless of who we're talking about. By keeping DU honest, you make DU a better place.
