(41,103 posts)badly so I never knew the connection until later in life. No Hatfield blood here (far as I know) but born close to those parts, on the WV side.
Go Pikeville Berners in Kentucky!

(2,096 posts)Let's hope the Berners in Kentucky are as successful as the ones in WV. We have a closed primary here so it will be tough. I know one thing the Clintons have been furiously campaigning in Kentucky and will be here right up until the election.

(41,103 posts)of any vote hence campaigning to small groups in that rough area and talking about WWII era miners with brown lung he helped from Arkansas days. In Logan, WV officials banned Bill from using facilities, but he got in to speak at the middle school, with Manchin's help probably. Only 40-50 miles from Pikeville, in this (ugly, but effective) link to the area google map. Lordy me...I remember Mom saying her father wondered about that (fierce) area around Williamson, and her fiancé from there...He was right! Teasing.

If you can show me an official statement from the Democratic National Committee certifying Hillary Clinton as the Democratic candidate for the office of the President of the United States, dated on or prior to Sunday, May 15, 2016, I'll humbly beg your forgiveness for my entirely appropriate response to your otherwise insulting, pointless drivel.

(1,150 posts)That was on one of the signs held up early in the clip.
Bernie Sanders has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to bring that back into American politics.
And, yet, we're likely going to nominate a person whose personal credo seems to be 'not you, me (unless you give me and mine a lot of money).'
