Rather than trying to win over progressive Democrat votes, Hillary Clinton continues to alienate those not already in her camp. On Thursday, the former secretary of state haughtily declared that she would be the Democratic nominee despite the fact that the Democratic primary rages on. Clintons assumptive and entitled attitude is doing her no favors for winning over progressive Democrat votes, and it could be this attitude which loses her the election. Ring of Fires Sydney Robinson discusses this.

(5,737 posts)To the politically naive, change can come about by just electing a President. To those that know better, they understand that it will take a lot more than just a President; it will also take at least a Democrat majority in the Senate. It appears that to Progressive Democrats and Social Democrats that they think a President can make all of the changes by themselves without the help of Congress or the Supreme Court. Yep, the politically naive.

(1,917 posts)Progressive Democrat has been around a while. If you're 62 you should know that.
Sanders supporters know that he can't change anything by himself.
But we know he will try, not like the other candidates that will advance TPP and every other big business request.

(8,846 posts)War, Wall Street, Cheap Labor, Medical costs out of control, insurance rackets....ad nauseum, just by electing a President.
I don't think I'm the naive one here.

(9,141 posts)only make up 25% of Democrats, The rest of the country will judge her condescending attitude and say "Just who does she think she is?" 89 delegates away but is she electable since she does not beat Trump by as large of numbers as Sanders who does not have all that hate baggage to carry around. Hillary needs to be smarter and get some humility and act like she needs the rest of her party or she will lose us this election. She is not a Queen. Merely a candidate who will work for us...not rule us.

(3,967 posts)he keeps saying it's not over, but just because he says it's not over, doesn't mean it isn't not over. Hillary has not been saying it's not over. That's Bernie.

Oh, and It's Not Over. See? People still get to vote without the stunning hubris and tagalongs rah rahs.

(39,909 posts)Hillary has NOT crossed the finish line. She does NOT have the required number of delegates to have WON the nomination.
Bernie Sanders name is on the ballot in California.
That means the Race is still ON.
As usual, Bernie is telling the truth,
and Hillary.....well, we all know from history what kind of relationship Hillary has with the truth.

(9,141 posts)His agenda is what the majority of people when polled say they want but none of the other candidates even talk about. He has made a national populist movement front and center...one that without him would have been ignored. He has won this political revolution because the inspired young people will be involved and active in the democratic process for decades to come pushing back against the oligarchy and the multimillionaires who are trying to buy this nation's leaders.
It's not about the horse race. It's about the process and the agenda and what we stand for as democrats.

(5,106 posts)Baby steps. I voted for Bernie in my PA primary, but I'll work for and support Hillary, or whoever the Democratic nominee, because, just look at The Donald, or Cruz or any Republican alternative. Rather than benefit from the present Republican chaos, the Democrats seem to be determined to create their own chaos. The Clintons are an puzzle wrapped in an enigma (or is it vice-versa). Bill was savaged and impeached, but pulled through. Hillary has been the"most admired woman" in the world a number of times, but deals with a hatred that claims her a criminal worthy of being prosecuted in the U.S. Bill disappointed me during his term, but I'd rate him a distaff Richard Nixon, charm aside. Both of them claimed a certain philosophy in governing: both skewed away from it when it seemed an expedient standard of governing. Nixon (Yow,I'm choking) actually did far more "liberal" good than Bill Clinton. I think we're still pretty stuck in 2016. BUT the Bernie supporters need to continue after 11/16. I'll definitely do my part.
