BTW, there really is some dissension in the ranks per a couple of threads tonight:

Freeperville is imploding and Drudge is attacking Roberts.

Tx4Obama said the Freepers are really losing their minds...

One said to elect Obama for four more years so people can see how bad he is!

I thought they were getting ready for the long awaited revolution after Jim Rob's last rant. They were banning people for supporting Romney over Newt. They have no candidate! Lol!

They absolutely disgust me. I've checked with people who are on other sites. They said the wing nuts have been having a fit since Newtie got dumped. He was their 'integrity and honor' candidate. Goes to show the level of intellect we're going up against in this country.

I won't visit their sites at all, the vibe is very bad. Don't how to explain other than it's like they are reduced to very slow motion, heavy, not at all healthy. Some of the vitriol is like an infected sore, like some kind of cancer. I can't describe it.

Kind of horrifying, really, repeating the same words over and over, hateful. Ugh..

Hey, see you tomorrow I gotta run.

She comes off as more sane than her other gop governors.

Except when she publicly blamed the New Mexico wildfires on the environmentalists. The media have scubbed that comment in a speedy hurry.

In other words it's a big deal They desperately need the funds that come with the optional medicaid funding. I think there will probably be a more governors follow suit. Especially in states with high poverty levels.

Even in blue states, the Repukes keep trying to interfere with coverage for those they believe don't deserve it. The federal rules don't allow it, that's why they hate it.

along with other states with high poverty- W. Virginia, S. Carolina, Alabama.... Their legislators should be ecstatic that they can free up some resources to fund more corporate welfare, hunting grounds, or whatever they want to spend money on. unfortunately, they would probably want to fund more fake pregnancy crisis centers.

Resisted a regressive tax and said that it was unGodly and the rich should pay. He vetoed it and was outvoted when they ran it through. Think I saw a video, but this was even before the Teajadists took over. He really did, despite being a Republican, believe in helping the poor as Christian. As far as I know, he was shoved out at the next election. Someone might remember that guy.

Another one I saw in Congress a while back was questioning spending for the wars instead of the poor. Likewise he has not been heard of since. Helping poor people is like dancing with Satan for the GOP. Thom Hartmann made a video saying they really needed an exorcism!

A republican demanding Democrats send him a bill that raises taxes?
If economic policy were my only interest, I would almost be willing to vote for this guy over my current Democratic governor.

Ashcroft's journey illustrates what has happened to the state Republican Party in the last two decades. There would be no place for the John Ashcroft of 1989 in the Missouri GOP of 2010.
He refused to cut $150 million from the budget to pay the refunds the state had been ordered to pay. Instead he proposed — horrors! — tax increases.
Ashcroft wanted to enact temporary increases in the state's cigarette tax and corporate franchise tax to plug the gap. The Legislature, with his approval, opted instead to raise the state sales tax by one-fifth cent for nine months, and to raise the corporate income tax rate from 5 percent to 6 percent for two years.

Have him sign a paper he'd refuse, when he was deathly ill in the hospital for major surgery?

I saw him as childish, spouting religious platitudes, and some of them really believe this stuff, eternally wanting to be a good boy. Mostly fooling themselves. They want someone to protect them, a strong figure like an authoritarian daddy.

But the other guys, Cheney, DeLay, etc., know exactly what they're doing. The photos of Cantor, Boehner, etc. all look like little boys afraid of getting spanked. We don't know why these guys are like they are.

I'm glad we have adults in the White House now.

It's interesting to realize that behind the statued robes there lurked a guy with a moral compass that sometimes aligned with my ideals.

I remember an instance where the republicans punished a member who voted with democrats by moving him to a tiny office. Another time, the governor threatened to close one prison and increase the population of one in her district if the legislator didn't get in line.

I think Cantor is just mean. Boehner is a conundrum to me. His record indicates the he could be fairly reasonable until he became speaker. It makes me wonder what they have on him.

Slippery things. Ryan comes off as an angry child. Being able to speak a lot in public doesn't equate to wisdom. Top examples Rush, Hannity, Beck, etc. They run their mouths a mile a minute, and are persuasive on the subconscious level.

When I'm around someone like that, I look for the Exit. It is hell having to deal with people like on a daily basis, worse in poltiics than in corporate games. In a corporation, you work to save your job, in politics, you're trying to save someone else's life, if you believe in that.

The pressure is so intense and personal and so many people demand so much and never think of them as humans and not vending machines. It's why a lot of good folks are no longer interested. It can be a thankless job, with only the work itself as a reward.

Priorities match levels of maturity. I think most of the GOP haven't grown up.

Check the ages of the most hostile emerging GOP leaders. They are mostly in their early 50s and younger. I think the pendulum is swinging as many of the younger politicians and voters are much more progressive.

If her name was being tossed around.
On one hand, the last time they picked a female governor, it was a disaster to say the least. On the other, to court the female and Hispanic vote in one fell swoop seems to me to be pretty enticing.
