A relative of mine (with a masters degree and ABD) is working three part time jobs with no paid sick days or other benefits from any of them, just to keep up with the two mortgages on his modest home. His son, who is very bright, will be out of high school soon. We're all praying he gets one or more scholarships, but, even then....
