Requiem For The American Dream. Noam Chomsky

Last edited Thu May 26, 2016, 07:15 PM - Edit history (1)

He talks about all the things I've watched happen in this country and around the world. If you want to understand why the economy is kept in it's current situation (it's on purpose) and why, then take the time to watch this.

This is a preview.

I haven't watched at this link but it says full movie, free...

I'm watching on Amazon prime and haven't checked Netflix but I will.

We must understand what is happening so we can resist and make the changes we need.

on edit...it's on Netflix streaming...not Amazon. At Amazon you have to buy it. I was never able to get the Youtube movie to play.

If you can, try to watch this movie. It's important.

I thought I was streaming it from Amazon Prime but I was watching on Netflix streaming so if you have Netflix you can stream it there. It's really worth the watch. It's amazing how long all of this has gone on.

But considering with Netflix I get to quit any time and with Amazon, I think I'm locked in for a year to Prime??? I might just go back to Netflix.

I'd like to supply a free place because so many are short on cash and this is an important film for people to see at this moment in time.

Oh..I Googled and found nothing free...don't Duck. Maybe I'm not as skilled as some with the google search.

I saw it on Netflix a week ago. He does an excellent job of explaining how our rigged economy works (for the plutocrats, of course).

Today HuffPost has the following article

Hedy Epstein, Holocaust Survivor and Ferguson Activist, Dies at 91

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/hedy-epstein-dies_us_57474798e4b03ede44143e01

Read the short but dynamic description of a Life well Lived. It is inspiring!!!!! And that is what we need right now to help us stay on track. When i read it and also the link to her webpage (in the article) I thought about ALL she went through at such a young age, losing her family because of the most vile government in modern times (the Third Reich) and yet - - - she spends her life not moaning and groaning about how tough things are, but rather she chose to face and participate against so many of the horrible things being done yet today, and became a positive, energetic force FOR the good. I think we MUST define the American Dream, not only in economic terms but in humane terms as well. We must get people to realize EVERYONE must be a political force. We must encourage a development of the political in each person. Getting a good job isn't enough.

Hedy ended each talk with the same advice:

“Remember the past, don’t hate, and don’t be a bystander.” (Now my motto, too)

Look at the list of the human rights actions she participated in.
If she could muster up the energy and courage to continue throughout her life --so can we.
91 glorious years!!!

Mary

old-timers, (hope you don't mind), anything new but he puts is so simply and with such clarity that it can't be denied. We are in great need of a Bernie Sanders and an involved, committed population.
