(102,276 posts)I don't have time to watch videos and like many, can't watch at work. I know I'm not the only one who feels frustrated on this score.

(9,214 posts)Concise and to the point, I don't see how it could have been any better.

(9,214 posts)The hypocrisy of your criticism of the OP's description compared my comment on your criticism is also noted.

(49,001 posts)Watching videos is very time consuming.
Even watching one minute of a video to try to get some context and some sense of relative importance when it is not supplied is time consuming.
If an OP takes 3 minutes to post a couple of sentences providing context and that saves 100 (out of thousands) readers a minute each, that is a very good investment of 3 minutes, at a ratio of 100 to 3. The benefit is probably much higher by taking less time to post than 3 minutes and saving more than 100 people a minute.
Further, one presumes that an Original Poster posts a video with the intention of having people watch it. OPs who provide useful summaries including a bit of context and a bit of relevance are successful OPs.

(9,214 posts)And the description matched my expectations of the contents. I suspect hlthe2b never even watched the video. Either that or neither of you know anything about the subject of the video to start with. If that is the case I can excuse the OP because it was a well documented story which had exposure at multiple times and it would be expected that everyone would know who the subject was.

(49,001 posts)Read what I wrote.
What was missing was the context and the relevance.
Yes, it is "well-documented" (meaning it can be searched for), but not everyone has TV like your highness or is plugged in all the time any story blows up. Some people have lives that preclude them or they take breaks. As I said, I had heard "of" the story, but what was missing was its relevance and import.
Assumptions are the mother of all f... foul-ups. Your assumptions, ....

(11,197 posts)Chris Kyle stated that he punched Jesse Ventura in the face; Ventura called BS, sued, and won the lawsuit, hence Kyle lied.

(11,197 posts)It was a pretty simple request, and I can understand that you cannot watch videos while at work. Not sure why someone would go to the trouble of responding to harass rather than to simply provide the info for someone unable to view the answer, but oh well. Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!

(49,001 posts)Concise in the case of the title omits important context to help evaluate whether to watch the video or not.
"even bigger" begs the question: bigger than what? How is this important?
I remember there being some controversy, but a sentence or two to recap would sell the video much better.
Text is so much faster to read than to watch videos, so I don't watch videos unless the poster cares enough to provide meaningful context and some indication of its relative importance.

(1,090 posts)They also try to make the point that this is not trying to hurt his family, but set the record straight seeing how so many people went overboard on how great this guy was and so forth. Many of the stories and claims of medals won etc are being proven false, some from people he worked with in the services others are from people like Jessie Ventura who sue him and won.

(26,621 posts)No glory in war, no glory in killing, no glory in the likes of Chris Kyle who, not satisfied with the his actual number of kills, felt the need to embellish, for book sales.
