A "dog eat dog, I've got mine, the needy have to do better for themselves somehow or suffer and die" is not a civilized society.

A Pete Peterson society is not a civilized society.

A chained CPI society is not a civilized society.

A society that cuts SNAP for the poor again and again and cuts fuel subsidies to the poor is not a civilized society.

A society in which the rich get richer while the poor and middle class fight each other for crumbs is not a civilized society.

It's not only the size and spending of the military. It is also the scope of the mission. This is entirely unacceptable.

It is also unacceptable in light of the fact that it is now clear the mission is not to promote and preserve democracy worldwide. It is not a "force for good". No fucking way! Maybe some starry eyed stupid "patriotic" Republicans still believe that. The mission of the military is now to make the world safe for capitalism, disaster capitalism.

... about what Democratic Socialists want: We don't want the effing world... all we want is the basics of life for our citizens. If we are the "richest country in the world," then why can regular working middle class people, working poor and the poor ever get ahead? Every time we turn around anymore, we have to struggle through these recessions, each of them seeming to get harsher than the previous one.
There has to be a balance in life, no matter what you are dealing with. Is this not true?
