WSJ editor: Trump needs to be destroyed in the November election to teach GOP voters a lesson (Original Post) dcmfox May 2016 OP

He wants a modern day Herbert Hoover, as opposed to Trump, basically. LS_Editor May 2016 #2
Who are you calling the "modern day Herbert Hoover"? DinahMoeHum May 2016 #3

That is much more clear, as I wasn't referring to anyone in particular.

Herbert Hoover was all about small government and letting the market run itself. That's why he told Americans they were on their own when the market crashed.

Still sounds like the Wall Street Journal to me.

Republicans who refuse to vote for trump. What other option do they have? A democrat. It could be Hillary (the least leftward) or Bernie (the socialist...OMG). So she is trying to bring in the republicans to vote for her now and Donald wants her out of the race because he knows the repubs who won't vote for him, just might vote for her (the republican lite)...but if the choice is him or Bernie (the socialist...OMG), they will likely choose Trump.

That doesn't mean Hillary can beat Trump easier than Bernie...it's just one factor to consider.

Can we somehow teach them a lesson, too?

I remember when Trump officially announced his candidacy. He paid people to come to where he made the announcement and it was a sparse group of people who were paid to hoot and holler and hold up Trump campaign signs. He never could have gotten to where he is today had the media not stooped to him every day, giving him free minute-by-minute coverage, giving him a pass on the outrageous things he said, not holding him accountable to the things he's been promising, and virtually ignoring his pathetic and hypocritical record as a businessman.

Had the media not been enablers to the degree they've been, Trump would not have drawn the attention and the votes that he's enjoyed so far.

Yes! The Media made Trump into the monster that he is today. Shame on them. Time to make it a policy to not buy from their corporate sponsors.

the same thoughts have emanated from several GOP quarters

"manifestly unqualified to be president in any way, shape, or form"

Romney said basically the same thing, and also questioned Trump's temperament

I'm no Mittens fan, his corporate raider anti-environmental attributes make him suspect

But he nailed Trump

if it's just an arm's length bone thrown to libs, workers, the public

because they won't endorse anyone, and you know it's a right wing
Murdoch rag

so this editor's opinion even though he sits on the editorial board,
while loaded with ballast, won't help the election much
