2. She is reading. You don't just see it in her eye movements; you hear it in her voice.

Fail. Big time fail.

Loses on the authenticity meter.

...because, well...Hillary.

One of the major disconnects between her and people not in her "base" is that "NeoCon Warhawk" thing, whether she deserves that label in whole, in part, or not at all.

I don't give a rat's ass about who leads us into war. We've been led into enough wars...and kept there...for 16 fucking years. I'm not going to feel any better about it if it's Clinton's decision rather than Trump's.

Issues and accomplishment mean nothing. Instead, the idea that anyone would speak with someone you don't like disqualifies her. No wonder you are so keen to elect someone who has such a meager record of accomplishment. Anyone who manages to do anything in life has to talk to people, even people they disagree with. Comments like this by "progressives" and the Tea Party alike are precisely we have a government gridlock. Next time you wonder why they can't pass legislation even the vast majority of Americans agree on, look in the mirror.

the urge to prove he could get elected.

So why would socializing with Trump help Hillary "get things done."

Clearly the 85% of Democrats in Vermont disagree with your belief that Bernie did NOT get things done. Not only have they elected and re-elected him to Congress since 1992, but all 85% of them voted for Bernie in this year's Vermont primary.

Bernie mixes with the people that matter -- members of Congress and his constituents.

Hillary mixes with Trump and people like him. Why does she do that?

When her and Bill attended his wedding?
That picture looks like she admired him a lot.

This is why I can't take any of this seriously...it all seems like Kabuki theater to me.

Yes, I can agree that Trump is a dumb shit. But she got suckered in to supporting Bush and the Iraq war.

I'd say they are about equal. The shame of it is, when it comes to the debates, Trump is going to demolish her.

She will be using talking points in her dull, monotonous voice. He will be getting laughs, calling her Crooked Hillary, Silly Hillary -- whatever negative one worded insult he can think of at the moment... or already has thought of.

People will tune her out. Trump will get gasps and applause.

He's been playin everyone for a long time and she knows that. She's playing to her base's fears right now. Like 9/11. Like her ad about the 3am phone call.

Wait until the GE when Trump will finally start to open up about who and what he really is. Then we might have something legitimate to fear...but his blustering up to this point is not it.

What I'd be looking for is "F--K THIS GUY!" Not literally dropping the f-bomb, to be sure.

But in this clip she seems too confident and comfortable with being "right"...bordering on smug and didactic...and I know that's how she comes across to a lot of people, myself included, but...

...this will move no one outside of her base. There's no fire, period, and I'm not entirely convinced that attacking Trump is going to gain her much ground no matter how she attempts it, because he is just too slick, and his own base is just too damned brainwashed.

I see Clinton and I have no idea what's behind the mask, but I don't like the mask.

The trick is to put on a different mask, one that is so electric and appealing and passionate and committed that you say "WOW! She's not wearing a mask, this is the real deal!"

And I'm just not that convinced that she can do it, because she seems really satisfied with herself, and tends to take an "up yours" attitude in the face of anything but praise.
