Gary Hart Ads 1984

If we only would've made Hart our nominee, I believe he would've beaten Reagan in the GE.

Instead the "B Movie" actor, Reagan was re-elected and became the patron saint of trickle-down economics.

... it would have been better for the party in the long run had Hart been the nominee.

This was the first presidential election I voted in. Too many of my peers wound up tuning out for decades to come.

Gary Hart not being able to keep his zipper shut for five minutes definitely did.

Still...the one good thing to come out of that election cycle was Mondale breaking the glass ceiling, and picking a female VP candidate.
