Why isn't this bandied about more in the media? Maybe that's a rhetorical question.

But the fact that right wing Trump supporters are the most in line with the radicalized Middle Eastern ethnic. IMO they are not really religious, (Islamic), at all. Just like these Trumpsters are not religious in any Christian way. They both hide behind religion to cherry pick verses that could be interpreted as endorsing violence against a particular "other". I'll bet you many of those Trumpsters were telling each other that its about damn time someone did what that killer did. Why isn't it pointed out more publicly how much these two extremes think alike?

There is a problem in some liberal thinking that Islam should get a pass and its taboo to speak out against it. There are many threads here on DU right now where people are saying, "well yea, but Christians are just as bad". Sorry, but no they are not. They aren't the ones out there throwing homosexuals of of tall buildings, they aren't throwing acid in the faces of young girls whose only crime they committed is wanting an education. They aren't they ones out there hanging people in public squares for some slight offense against Islam. They aren't the ones out there that have a lawful obligation to murder you for converting away from Islam. Etc. etc. etc. This is not Daesh that I am talking about, but damn near ever Muslim majority nation out there.

This golden cow of Islam that is taboo to speak out against and then deflect to Christians in liberal circles needs to stop.
