(7,309 posts)That's an incredibly high number, actually.
Just a quick Wiki of voting age population equals 235,248,000 as of 2012. 6% of that is 14,114,880 ... yes, that's 14 million black people who find Trump favorable.
That ... that just seems so high to me. As a white Jewish guy, I can't help but think why anyone of any ethnicity would find him favorable.
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)235,248,000 is the total voting population - black, white, asian, hispanic, mixed. African-Americans make up about 27.4 million total registered voters. So, 94% of those voters have a negative opinion of Trump, and that leaves about 1.6 million that do not have a negative impression of Trump. (as I stated above, some could be neutral on Trump, some could like him.)
27.4 million is from here:

And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. ...

(12,863 posts)I think it's a terrible shame the American people will not have better choices this November (not counting 3rd party candidates with zero chance of winning).
Nevertheless, Donald Trump has taken presidential politics to a new low that is IMO orders of magnitude worse than anything I've seen in my lifetime of 58+ years.

Scary election this cycle. I can't imagine a Trump presidency.

(1,975 posts)I could have sworn I read an article that the major polling companies said that they are hesitant of running any type of meaningful polls because both candidates have such horrible negative numbers.
With that being said, I wouldn't trust any polling data on either candidate with exception of maybe exit polls come November.
Either way though, I believe that Trump is going to be a disaster for the the Republicans. They are going to have to finally reap all the negativtivity that they have sewn in years past, and I for one will sit here with a smile.

(7,968 posts)It would be bad if we got the Republicans to realize what a disaster Trump will be as their nominee while they can still concievably change it. Our best case senario is that he leaves Cleveland with the nomination in hand after a knock down drag out hand wringging convention of chaos.
Though I suppose their is some danger to the country if this transpires as some unpredicted event could occur in October causing American's to vote irrationally thus leaving us with the disasterous situation of a Trump presidency.

I am getting sick of seeing his face.
How about more positive things about Hilliary, or do they exist?
I am wondering why none of the mainstream has been running anything positive about her, and is all Drumpf, all the time myself.

(4,291 posts)However, we either confront evil here and now, or face the prospect of the unthinkable. If these posts motivate even one DU member to help get out the vote come November, I consider this acceptable.
The reason why the corporate-owned and -directed mass media keep running stories about Drumpf is because of ratings. It's all about the shock value, and just as so many motorists slow down to catch a glimpse of gore at a roadside accident, viewers cannot resist gawking at this carnival sideshow that has manifest itself into a presidential campaign. That said, I try not to ascribe too much influence in broadcast or print media. Their time has come and gone. Social media has much more influence these days (with those under the age of 70). And that's where we should concentrate our efforts.
As to Hillary's positive aspects, I look forward to watching so many Drumpfster heads explode in November. Just today at a grocery store parking lot, I saw a Drumpfster's bumper sticker that read in part "Vote for Hillary... Are you F....ing Kidding?" Oddly, the photo of the boy-man was one of the least flattering, but I won't quibble with that choice.
Stay strong!
