Desert Storm. Both my step sister and her husband were Air Force. My father and his wife were on stand-by to drop everything if needed and head to NC to pick up the kids. Keep in mind that Grandma and grandpa had jobs as well. War gets messy for people.

If we are going to stay in the Global War business then we are going to have more of this. As far as the draft goes, we don't have one now but if we did, men and women should be involved. Equal rights and all. Women are an integral part of our military now.

This is why elections are so important. Pick your leaders carefully. Pick someone who reveres life and believes in Peace Talks. Many young people in America would be surprised to know that not that long ago Presidents flew around the globe or dignitaries visited the US for what were known as Peace Talks. What a novel concept. These are much less lucrative for politicians and the war industry, as it turns out, hence their extinction.

I am very sure she would be subject to any draft. I am not sure how I feel about that.

Only having daughters I had not given it much thought.

He is too old to be involved now. People with daughters don't seem to be aware that for years when our sons turned 18, we walked them into the Post Office to sign their lives away with the Selective Service. That was a hard moment as a parent. It happens every day across this country.

It's time for all people to stand up and speak out against our global wars.

unnecessary wars in far away countries that were never any real threat to the US when they could both could be home raising their families and making the world a better place for everyone.

We can't take care of the Veterans we already have created… We have no business creating more. However… I would like our President and those in the Senate to bring back the draft and make sure there kids are part of this equation...
