back in the 60s of people killed and maimed in accidents.

Further, if the potential gun purchaser shows no reaction or doesn't care -- as I expect most gun "enthusiasts" would -- they should be barred from having gunz. If they show real concern and decide to wait to purchase a gun, maybe they are mature and stable enough to have one gun at home, maybe. . . . . . .

With millions of veterans as gun owners, a good percentage serving in combat theaters, you will find a number of them with no reaction to your gun snuff film.

Who knows what other rights we can delegate to the big newz area of teevee. 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th amendments and if people don't react according to some who knows who described norm (ala orwell) then the rights get stripped away.

I'm sorry, but being trained to kill innocent people in a barrage of bullets fired by people doing what some superior tells them ain't exactly a rebuttal to there are too many unstable people with gunz in this country. Randy Weaver, Timmy McVeigh, the "Sniper's" murderer, etc. PTSD and guilt do not mix well with guns.

Veterans are a pretty dangerous group actually: http://strongeratthebrokenplaces.com/veterans-and-violent-crime/

I know a number of veterans who wouldn't own a gun if you gave it to them.

Sounds right up your alley with your views on veterans. US military were never trained to kill innocent people, whose
service were you in ?

may not be mentally healthy enough to own a gun.

We had a local, Robin (I expect he's still here...just haven't heard anything about him for awhile). He tried to scare some kids off his property by shooting his military style semi-auto rifle up in the air over their heads. And he lived in a residential area. He also got in a fight with a neighbor and shot his dog. I had to ask my next door neighbor to quit allowing him to scrounge on his property for wood and stuff (he owned property on both sides of me, and both properties were vacant at the time, because Robin kept drifting onto my property, armed, and looking for things to salvage, not just fire wood. He finally cut up and took some logs I had lining my driveway to keep people from driving onto my property to camp and park.

I don't know if he had his guns taken away, but he's known to have mental issues, and is treated with caution by all who know him. He should not own guns. He walks around in camo, looking like Rambo, and carries a big hunting knife on him at all times, in case cougar...you know.

Just cause they were in the military doesn't mean they are safe with guns...as a matter of fact it probably raises the probability of them being a problem. I've read numerous stories over the years about retired military who went ballistic on their family or ex wife and killed someone.

Be specific, if you would please. For example, do you have evidence that they fabricated the various permits they posted? If they did, why hasn't SUPGV called them on it?

This is the sort of advertising fraud Consumer Reports has written about for years.
Said fraud being for a "good" cause does not make it any less phony- see "pregnancy crisis

Remember that fake gun store in NY that SUPGV opened up and took video of?

In an exclusive, the Shooter’s Log has learned that actors were used to portray customers in a fake gun shop “public service announcement” produced by States United Against Gun Violence earlier this year.

The New York City Mayor’s Office of Media has confirmed these facts in its response to a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request submitted in March.

“States United To Prevent Gun Violence opens a ‘gun store’ in NYC as a hidden camera social experiment to debunk safety myths,” the CeaseFire USA project claimed in its description of the video. The “social experiment,” like the “gun shop” itself, was pre-arranged, permits approved by the city indicate.

“Actors are interviewed on camera in a fake gun store,” the permits’ scene descriptions reveal.

It had previously been known that the “gun store proprietor” behind the counter was an actor—and one who has previously made a living glorifying fake “gun violence”—but up until now, speculation about if the “customers” were also plants has been just that.

“They [actors, presented as customers] entered the gun store looking for their first gun,” the video concludes. “This is how they left.”

They left anti-gun, of course. But then again, per the permits provided by the city, that was scripted, and the whole “hidden cameras” fiction was for the benefit of those not in on the performance.

http://blog.cheaperthandirt.com/group-actors-nyc-gun-store-facade/

The links to the documents are below this article, including the PSA project information, or in the permits themselves, which I presume is where they got this info. I didn't go through all the links, because I am losing my vision and it's just too hard to read a lot of small print.

inside and opened fire on the patrons inside. He used a Glock 17 and a Ruger P89 to kill 23 and causing 27 non-fatal injuries. Then he killed the 24th, himself. There were flowers piled as high as the door to the restaurant, but they did little good. It is the 4th deadliest mass shooting by a single shooter behind Pulse, Virginia Tech, and Sandy Hook. That was 25 years ago! Nothing has changed except it is easier to get an assault rifle now than it was then.

I don't get it. Now many people are buying guns because they are afraid of all of the others out there with guns. It is a gun feedback loop that the arms manufacturers just love! I bet they were worried when this first started happening. Now they gleefully start trying to figure out how much more money they will make in the aftermath of each mass shooting!

Our society has become sick and heartless.

NEW YORK, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a recent survey, six out of ten Americans believe owning a firearm makes homes safer. But studies show the opposite to be true: owning a gun can actually increase risk of injury and death for you and those around you.

To debunk this perception, States United to Prevent Gun Violence, a national non-profit organization dedicated to making our families and communities safer, did the unthinkable: they opened a "gun store" on Manhattan's Lower East Side and invited first-time gun buyers to check it out as part of a hidden camera social experiment.
