We had a great liberal progressive represent us in the district, Maurice Hinchey. Then in 2011 with the redistricting, we got this damn RepubliCON, Chris Gibson. Hinchey retired after 20 years in Congress, and 28 years in the NY State Assembly, after a bout with cancer. He is still with us today. Gibson has served two terms, and inside word is that he hates the manipulation by the Party leaders in the way that he is allowed to vote. His official reason for "retiring" is to spend more time with his family.

Teachout worked with the Howard Dean campaign, and then in 2014 she primaried then incumbent governor, Andrew Cuomo, and garnered 35% of the vote out of virtually nowhere. She won the counties in the 19th CD in that primary. Yesterday, she won the nomination in a landslide 73% to 27% decision. She faces John Faso, a former NY Assemblyman who ran for governor and comptroller, losing both bids. When he loses in November it would make him a three-time loser!

This district is considered a toss-up district, so as it seems, anything can happen. Contrary to that belief, I know the district, as I have lived in the area for 35 years, and can tell you that people are tired of the status quo, and Teachout will win in a landslide!

. . .the carpetbagger meme against Teachout? I read he's originally from Kinderhook.

And he is originally from Long Island himself!
Not to mention he's a L-O-S-E-R!
