The Neocon goal has been to systematically destroy the nations of Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Iran because they want to determine who is most powerful in the region. Their goals are being achieved so far and there is a good chance that things will get much worse.

The US has deliberately created a disaster area in much of the Middle East. It isn't a mistake. The Iraq War wasn't a mistake. We didn't starve the people in Iraq by mistake, which cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. We didn't help murder Qaddafi by mistake. The US Government hasn't supported the fundies against various secular governments by mistake. We're not supporting Saudi Arabia's slaughter against Yemen by mistake, etc.

At some level of the US Government this is all deliberate and these results are the goal. The rest of the politicians just play along, because they believe that's what their job demands, even if they just think they are just fighting those dirty terrorists.

We are far more collectively guilty for this disaster in the Middle East than Muslims are guilty for most of these terrorist attacks that we've been hearing about lately, since our Government officials act in our name (even though our government is corrupt and we as individuals have little power to stop any of this). Most Muslims have nothing to do with any of this crap.

2. Look for more of this. I predict Obama will use his "lame duck" status to take out ISIS

or at least seriously cripple it before he leaves office.

Reasons:

1) He will not want a Trump to come along after him and "fix" a threat that Obama couldn't.

2) If he can clean this up before Hillary Clinton takes office, it will enhance her chances in the election and save her the political problem of getting her own hands dirty at the start of her Presidency.

3) He is riding high in the polls and will continue to do so as Americans look askance at their future alternatives for President. He will be able to take more aggressive action while he has increased political capitol and voters are focused on the elections.

4) It is a legacy thing and it is a responsibility thing. He will not want this unresolved situation to mar his Presidency, both because it will be a historical stain that our first Black President left this problem behind, and because he is a conscientious patriot that sincerely wants to deal with this and not leave it to future Presidents. Especially a possible Trump that may even nuke the whole f-ing Mid East.

3. The new cold war

Everyone should understand that these extremists are created in order to keep the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX financed. They need to use up their old bombs and weapons and increase their BUDGET to finance the new weapons. The military is a FINANCIAL BLACK HOLE and there isn't a damn thing we can do about it, we are Eygpt...

4. Yes, it is no coincidence that the first Bush attacked Iraq just as the Cold War had ended

which set in motion much of the current fiasco. Though the US had been bullying the ME before.

The neocons have since established the agenda, and regardless if any particular politician cares at all about the neocons, the neocons have helped created the facts on the ground (many terrorists) to guarantee more wars against their target nations.
