‘The party died in this room tonight’: Nicole Wallace grief-stricken as Trump’s RNC speech ends (Original Post) Miles Archer Jul 2016 OP
I wonder what conventions would look like if it was about "We The People" Equinox Moon Jul 2016 #1

All this hoop-d-la is about one person's political position. We place too much importance on the Presidency. We need to tone it down by about 70%. If this was about a Political Party, that would have been the theme over the past 4 days.

But will we hear about ANY Republican plans to address these issues on down the slate? I'm involved with local Democratic politics, and area Republicans seem in disarray as to Trump. I'm waiting to hear his plans and can't believe he can get away without being specific. Local and State Republican candidates have actual platforms. I may disagree, but, even considering that, THESE GUYS ARE INVESTED IN THE ISSUES... even if self interest is a major factor with some of those running .Agree or not, but they , at the lowest Republican level, do care if allowed to take a position making it their platform pretty obvious---take it or leave it,
We need to change the outdated Electoral College and get a grip on gerrymandering, which is entirely out of hand. In modern times, straight winning votes for any elected position should not be an issue, going backward (for once) on hand counting with poll watchers if we can. Notice that machine voting results are just not disputed in a number of areas

Melania Trump had the fakest pasted-on smile all night. The only time it looked more genuine was when she interacted with her son Baron - who didn't smile at all.

She's probably fed up with her husband. If he treats her the way he treated his first wife, I can see why. I've read that Ivana Trump spent 90% of her time trying to avoid his wrath. He sounds abusive, at least verbally (if not physically).

No evidence for this; I just don't think he respects women in the slightest.

You helped kill it when you signed on to the effort to make Sarah Palin acceptable as the VP candidate. She should be writhing in shame rather than grief.
