1. They used to have a studio space next to my friends
Really nice guys. I had seen them in concert way back when and they were the fastest, tightest band I have ever seen.
Incredible musicians. Thanks for posting this! |

2. Fishbone is awesome
Definitely drew a white crowd when I saw them in the 80s and 90s.

4. Before Fishbone
There was Bad Brains.
But only by 2 years, lol. They're both still awesome though. |

5. Still stuck in your throat
They released a great album about 10 years ago entitled "Still Struck in Your Throat", I think it rivals their best stuff from 30 years ago. I remember going to shows 30 years ago and not seeing very many people of color in the audience. While talking to one black dude in the crowd he thought Angelo was "playing the fool" with his stage antics, maybe that's the reason they stayed away? I thought Angelo was way cool but I'm a screwed up white boy. Wish the band all the best.

7. The lack of African Americans was similar at Bad Brains and Living Colour shows.
It was an odd time, and it's great to see things changing.
