Implying (by sliding in Democrat Donald in 2005) that, as a Republican, he wouldn't talk this way, was her first slick move as a "public relations" person. It was a pathetic try, but shows she may be learning.

3. Should Not Have Ended the Conversation

Ending those types conversations give people on the right the ability to claim liberal media types cannot handle smart Republicans. Carol Costello should have regained control of the conversation and then negated Pierson's points. Either Costello or Angela Rye should have pointed out that Donald Trump was a grown man of the age of 59 when he made those comments on that bus. He knew what he was doing was wrong. If he did not, at age 59, know that what he was doing was wrong he is not fit to be President.
