But look at the body of work from Voight. Deliverance, Midnight Cowboy, Odessa File, Runaway Train, Heat. He can act the heck out of a role, carry the film. Their usual winger "stars" are Hestons, Schwarzeneggers, Eastwoods, who are given notable leading roles and can't act worth crap. And there's almost always some skeivey propaganda angle to those other guys' roles.

I haven't seen anything like Voight since Jimmy Stewart. Every movie he was on the side of good, but his politics were Mr. Potter's.

I like Voight's acting generally, and as Joe Buck in Midnight Cowboy particularly. He's an actor, a pretty good one, IMO, and one of the striking things to this clip is that it reminds me how poor a speaker Trump is, Giuliani is, Kristina Pierson is, and so on through the gaggle of ghouls and fools comprising the Trump campaign and Trump surrogates.
