The deal would cover 800 Carrier workers from the Indianapolis furnace plant and an additional 300 research and headquarters positions that weren’t slated to go to Mexico, according to another person briefed on the deal.

The company still plans to move 600 jobs from the Carrier plant to Mexico. It also will proceed with plans to close a second plant in Huntington, Ind., that makes electronic controls, moving 700 other jobs to Mexico.

The RW has been preparing for this takeover by Trump and his cronies for years now by generously funding and running a massive, multifaceted, highly sophisticated, unrelenting propaganda machine. Our side has simply has nothing that can effectively counteract the effects of this.

Sure, president Obama got elected, and got lots of good things done, but huge swaths of the American public have a wildly distorted view of his presidency, of Democrats in general, and quite possibly of just about everything factual in the universe.

We need to come up with an even more comprehensive and powerful method for getting actual facts to them. It will require an enormous amount of effort and expertise and comes with a hefty price tag, but just look at what the failure to implement this countermeasure has cost us.

Whatever we've done along these lines, it just hasn't been enough. We will never win over the die hard racists. the one-issue anti-abortion zealots, or the greedy bastards who stand to gain financially from a Trump presidency and don't care about the damage he will cause.

But that racist, misogynistic, bankrupting, lying, thin-skinned, explosive opposite of a statesman would not have won if not for the people whose vote was based solely on their believing RW bullshit. Whatever Clinton and the Democratic party's negatives, they are nothing compared to the Republicans' and Trump's. If more people had known the truth, Trump would have lost both the popular and the electoral vote by a landslide.

We have got to figure out a way to defeat the RW propaganda machine.
