...once and for all, by making Trump (Nero) his successor.

That's hilarious. I was looking for some I Claudius clips to illustrate various modern day trumpisms, too.

Some examples:

1. Where Sejanus is torturing Gallus into signing a confession, and he says "you're a lesson in history to me, Sejanus. I've never fully realized how a small mind allied to unlimited ambition and without scruple can destroy an entire country full of clever men." TRUMP!

or,

2. The way Caligula had a Praetorian Guard, but he also had his own household battalion of German guards, who where loyal to him alone. Similar to Trump keeping his own security detail from Trump Tower, that he pays himself, rather than relying on the Secret Service.

3. The way Macro fired Sejanus' guards, and substituted his own the day they had the coup against Sejanus. Just like Trump firing the head of the Washington DC National Guard the day of his inauguration. (Probably plans to sign an executive order making Jared Kushner a 'General,' and putting him in charge of the Washington DC National Guard.)

Ah yes, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

there are so many integral parts to just this episode, let alone the whole series, that reminded me of tRump or those close to him.

though its was produced in '76 for the BBC I think the first time I caught the entire series was in the 80's via PBS.
