Trump has repeatedly said "my supporters love me, I could go shoot someone on 5th avenue in the middle of the day and they'd still love me". True.

But...to condemn hate crimes, anti-semitism, racially motivated attacks...that's the kind of chit that is unacceptable to his crowd. It's his third rail. He can do anything he wants but this?...this is verboten.
