...but it's essential that he said that 45 put the country at risk by accusing Obama of tapping him.

2. I think Bannon suggested to him he needed to stop the crescendo of bad press that had been building

all week, and that in order to do that, he (Trump) needed a real show-stopper. And that is why he made the accusation. It startled me to hear Hayden say essentially that because that is exactly what I had been thinking but would not say because it is such an outrageous thought. It did the trick, though, didn't it?

4. Agree completely, but what

...confuses me is this: Does Bannon actually believe the crap on Breitbart? I thought it was part of his grift, that he knew the "facts" were made up but incredibly useful.

I mean, Bannon should have known this would implode, because he knew--right?--that it was a bogus story. Does he actually believe Mark Levin? Aren't they all in it together--making up these conspiracy stories?

The whole thing makes no sense on any level, to me, in terms of Bannon.

6. Yes, I believe they knew this was an explosive accusation; the knowledge it was not true

was totally incidental.

I do not think Bannon believes the stuff Breitbart posts; he just likes provocative (and that is putting it mildly) items to spread fear and discontent. I ignore him now and I breathe much easier.

I think you are right to say it makes no sense. They (Trump and Bannon) do not care about that -- they just like shouting "fire" in the crowded theater.

What you say reminds me now---they are followers of Leo Strauss who talked about getting power through complete surprise, not making sense and brazen illogic that scatters everyone's ability to respond.

3. Just like Cheney who outed Valarie Plame for his own selfish agenda

Trump doesn't give a shit about revealing state secrets (such as methods
for capturing info or the operatives who spy on Russia) in order to save
his own selfish ass.

Are his ratings so bad that he needed to switch gears?

He was a YUGE enabler of Agent Orange during the election.
