Tillerson: 'Steps Are Underway' to Remove Assad

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says the U.S. is considering 'an appropriate response' to the chemical weapons attack in Syria. He also said efforts by an international coalition to remove Syrian President Bashar Assad "are underway." (April 6)

Will the US be sending more troops to the region? If so, how many?

This could get ugly quick.

It is interesting that they are all so outraged only now. They were willing to let Assad carry on even though he has a past history of using gas on civilians. They were willing to let Assad get a pass as trump has allowed the military to bomb civilians (it is reported they eased rules to allow more easily to bomb in civilian areas). It is only now that trump sees "little babies" killed that he wants to completely change course. Total bullshit to get the whole Russian story buried.

I don't believe they are just talking-- Something big is about to happen in Syria- Listen to Tillerson's words in this video:

He's basically preparing Trump's ally (Russia) for a war with Syria.

There's a possibility this will turn into another Iraqi invasion/war all over again.

must have some kind of direction from their Russian handlers.

Perhaps propping up Assad is proving too costly? A new strong man is in the works?

How does Iran figure into this?

Maybe this is a play to get good PR for Russia prior to dropping sanctions?

This is exactly the opposite of what the deplorables wanted. This is not America First! This is mainstream neocon!

Poor Trump. All this complicated stuff. He thought he'd just be schmoozing foreign leaders while golfing, and issuing orders to those Senators and Representatives and Judges that work for him.

just like we backed and disposed of 'leaders' in Vietnam(Diem) who became unpopular with our leaders, I BELIEVE russia(putin) NOW wants assad out also and working in concert with his american puppets, will get assad out. And there will be kabuki and threatening from russia against his american puppet boy-potus, all of which will be theater if assad is removed.

I kept hearing about not telegraphing military moves. What's worse is that they obviosuly haven't even formulated a fully thought-out genral plan or the long-term strategic plan yet.
