(905 posts)All my blood work has been great. All categories normal except one blood test last year. My job was eliminated, I caught pneumonia, and was generally depressed. My sugar level on that test was a bit high. My doctor told me he would give me 3 months to get it down. I was all in. I went to a class, he put me on a very low dosage of Xanax, and vowed to turn my life around. In 3 months my sugar was at a normal range and has been that way ever since. He reported the Diabetes, from 1 blood test, to my insurer. I now have a pre-existing condition. I did it all with diet and exercise, no medicine for the high sugar. I feel the conclusion was unfair.
I really like my doctor but if this goes through I am cooked.
