(55,301 posts)(Dem or Rep) would ever consider possibly killing people for selfish political ambitions. That is inhumane. Unfortunately this is where our broken and sick country is right now. I don't know how the idiots in Washington sleep at night.

Why should I pay for their health insurance?
Yeah, pretty heartless, and refusing to accept the reality that there is, and always will be, a stratum of incomes in the country. There will always be those that have more and those that have less. Even when everyone's income goes up, there is still a bottom and still a top. People are worthy and are entitled to health care, no matter their income.
(The ACA didn't get it quite right, though. Wish they'd work on tweaking that, but we know they won't.)

(280 posts)God bless him for having the courage to share his story in front of his audience. Nothing can be more scary and heart-wrenching than something life threatening happening to someone you love.
The fact that he has the means to have quality insurance and still cares about those who don't, is what makes him a decent man. We need to elect representatives who, like him, understand how important the Golden Rule and compassion are to a healthy society.
