I'm Pretty Sure I Know What Jonathan Gruber Is Doing Tonight...

Together with physician Zeke Emanuel, M.I.T. Professor Jonathan Gruber was essentially the author of Obamacare. His pinky finger has a higher IQ than the entire GOP Freedom Caucus. But when somebody recorded him making an unguarded comment about how it was actually a good thing that American voters didn't understand the fine details of Obamacare, the GOP jumped on the opportunity to haul him in front of a House Committee and accuse him of calling the American people 'stupid.' All in an effort to further denigrate Obamacare.

Here we see scurrilous scumbag Trey Gowdy giving him the water torture....

Well, I think I know exactly what Gruber is doing tonight! Going through EVERY LINE and EVERY CLAUSE of the GOP Anti-Healthcare bill, and finding all the hidden problems and destructive clauses....typing them up into talking points, and emailing them to every Democrat on the Hill, and every 'Indivisible' mailing list. It's PAYBACK time, you pricks! Maybe YOU didn't read the bill before voting on it...but I'm pretty sure GRUBER'S going to read it VERY carefully!

(Footnote: When Gruber said it was a good thing the average American didn't understand the details of Obamacare, he meant that the plutocrats and their GOP servants had done such a good job of denigrating TAXES that it was impossible to do anything in Washington that involved a tax increase. Even if that tax increase was justified and needed. So, it was a fortunate thing that the average voter didn't understand that the Obamacare mandate/fine mechanism was actually a tax. Luckily, John Roberts understood that, and interpreted it as such at the Supreme Court.)

In fact, that's what reminded me of this. I saw him, and turned to my wife and said "I know exactly what Gruber's going to be doing tonight." It's payback time.

The GOP took every opportunity to sling mud at this guy, personally, just to try to denigrate Obamacare as much as possible, for very petty reasons.

Zeke Emanuel also got a lot of personal mud slung at him. He once published a paper on organ transplant policy (a criterion for how transplant organs should be prioritized), and suddenly that paper was being characterized as the DEATH PANEL paper on all sorts of fake blog sites, and fake conservative 'think tanks.' It was ridiculous. I can't imagine Emanuel wouldn't like a little payback, too.

"the stupidity of the American voter." Don't care how high his IQ is, that right there is a damn stupid statement. IIRC, it came out about the time of the 2014 mid-terms, and probably played a part in the R takeover of the Senate.

And no matter what he comes up with in going over this travesty of a bill with a fine-toothed comb, you can bet that every article written will include his "stupidity of the American voter" comment.

An architect of the federal healthcare law said last year that a "lack of transparency" and the "stupidity of the American voter" helped Congress approve ObamaCare.

He said this obfuscation was needed due to "the stupidity of the American voter" in ensuring the bill's passage.

And in still another video he's caught telling Washington University at St. Louis in 2013 that one important provision of the bill passed "because the American people are too stupid to understand the difference."

Economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the Obama administration's consultants on the Affordable Care Act, is under attack from conservatives for comments he made last year in which he said the "stupidity of the American voter" was a factor in passing Obamacare in 2010.

I was suggesting that, since he knows more about health care legislation than almost anyone alive, he'd probably be able to go through it faster than anybody else, find its flaw, and send out talking points to political opponents of the bill. He'd probably do that behind the scenes, and probably IS doing that right now. He has plenty of incentive to do so.
