Her responses to Cornyn were embarrassing..........to him!
I would love to see Gowdy and Chaffitz try to question her. It could be bloody.

(3,055 posts)These "man-splaining" assholes better watch their step around Democratic Women. Sally obviously reads and know stuff. She also isn't intimidated and won't be spoken down to. Haven't seen the whole thing yet, but so far everything I've read and heard says she handed all of them their asses.

(2,689 posts)Integrity and honesty -- and patriotism -- beat the hell out of the tawdry partisan party loyalty these three fools have chosen in place of National security. I am amazed -- and after Trump "won" the election, I thought I'd never be amazed again -- by how childish and obvious their strategy to deflect was.
Cornyn actually -- no, seriously, actually -- tried to switch the topic to Hillary's emails!
Grossly (a spelchek error too appropriate to correct) wanted to know about the leaks of classified information that led to Flynn's dismissal -- what, he demanded to know, is being done to get to the bottom of those leaks. "Do you, Ms Yates or you, Mr. Clapper have any knowledge of who may have committed such a horrible crime as to let the American people know that Donald Trump and his administration has had direct dealings with the Russians that may have resulted in our current dithering fool of a president stealing the Presidential election from Mrs. Clinton? What an awful, awful breach of security. Just thinking about it is giving me the vapors , I swear! -- and nasal-adenoidal voiced old men from Iowa, like me, aren't supposed ever to get the vapors!" (That's a rough rendering, a paraphrase, if you will, of what this sad political hack actual said.)
And then there was Teddy -- smug snot-nosed Teddy -- Cruz playing Joe McCarthy without the old tailgunner's endearing charm. Yes, Sally shot him down, as she had shot down Cornyn and Grassly. Lyin' Ted quoted chapter and verse of the law -- out of context, of course -- and Sally countered with the simple fact, real not alternative, that the law he referred to had been changed and now reflected the broader view she had expressed and that it not only supported but mandated her refusal to enforce the foolish and unconstitutional executive order, a fact, she might have observed, that would have been clear to any idiot with a 5 year old friend who could read to him, "but I understand," she said "Senator, that most 5 year olds are too advanced intellectually to spend time with a slippery, smug, mendacious pettifogging-wannabe such as you." (OK, OK, a slight paraphrase, not an exact quote. In fact, I made that quote up. Completely. But I'm pretty sure it's in the ballpark of things she would really have liked to say.)
Dammit, Ms Yates had so many mic-dropping moments that the gallery should have broken into applause. But her three inquisitors (I won't call them Moe, Larry, and Curly out of respect for the class and finesse of the Stooges) didn't seem to notice or be aware of it. She slammed them with reason and logic, parried their every petty and empty argument with facts and knowledge, and they just kept on the attack, like 3 versions of the Black Knight from Monty Python's Holy Grail. Legless and armless, they rolled off the stage -- would that it were into oblivion.
I can hardly wait for Chapter 2 of this.
