Did You Like Obama's Speech At The JFK Profiles In Courage Award? So Did Charles Krathammer.
Or maybe not.
They don't call this turd-in-the-punch-bowl "Charles Sauerkraut" for nothing. Krauthammer has had a pathological hatred for President Obama since the day he was elected. It's driven him as crazy as MLK winning the Nobel Prize drove J. Edgar Hoover.
So, Fox News plays one of the best, and least partisan clips from Obama's acceptance speech, where he says "I doesn't take much courage to be on the side of the wealthy and the powerful. It takes more courage to be on the side of the weak and powerless, who seldom have access to the corridors of power." A true statement, right? However, Krauthammer automatically assumes Obama is talking about Republican politicians who are the cowards, and are always on the side of the rich and powerful; and Democrats are always on the side of the weak and helpless.
Well, that isn't always true. But my advice to old Sauerkraut would be...if you don't want Obama to keep practicing "moral condescension" over the GOP, why don't you tell the GOP to STOP GIVING HIM SO DAMNED MUCH MATERIAL TO WORK WITH! The GOP House just yanked HEALTH INSURANCE away from MILLIONS of poor people (Medicaid cuts) IN ORDER TO GIVE A F-ING TRILLION DOLLAR TAX CUT to a handfull of MILLIONAIRES! How else could you characterize that EXCEPT as being on the side of the rich and connected?
