but we keep getting told that "America should be run like a business" and some people keep electing Congressmen and Senators (and local officials) based on this stupid idea. Not sure where this idea originated but for as long as I can remember, this ideology has pretty much only resulted in private businesses assuming control over more and more previously government-run services that cost more (both to the government and citizens) and are far less transparent and accountable. What we are seeing in front of our very eyes with Trump and his flouting of laws and political norms is IMHO the end result of this ideology- this idea that we need- or should have- a "CEO President" (mis-)managing the Country.
