(2,396 posts)She didn't know that she was a department store mannequin whose group took turns being alive. He would look so keen standing on a pedestal in his tennis whites, racquet in hand.

(29,067 posts)I agree!...I remember that Twilight Zone episode too, and I now remember the actress, now that you've reminded me...Thanks...Twilight Zone was such a great series..Never missed it as a kid in the Sixties.

(2,396 posts)I'm just excited somebody else remembers it
I'm lucky cuz the old Twilight Zone is on M-F on ME TV. It's one of those classic content TV stations. It also shows Night Gallery but I think it's out of the rotation right now for Mannix instead.
It also has Alfred Hitchcock Hour!

(9,715 posts)A trip like this is an easy trip, he said. Theres no crisis. Its a relationship-building trip. Its hard for it not to be a success unless something goes wrong. .......James Steinberg....
I mean look, his presidency is awesome...the best...in 100 plus days nothing bad has happened.
Only good. Only good things ..... Only great stuff...
Com'on what could go wrong?
He's going to visit the Muslim people in nations that never did us wrong.
Remember he loves Muslims.
Oh, that ban was just to shut up some people, never meant it.
I mean look... If he wasn't such a great huge, fan of the best most awesome, biggest Christian movement in the entire history of the world...... I do believe that he would embrace Islam.
Soooo.... Tell me what could possibly go wrong?
Do I need to add this?

(14,173 posts)Mostly because he's stupid, but not THAT stupid. He reads over seas stories about how he is thought of around the world. I don't think he cares much about the rubes protesting in the streets, but he wants to be respected and admired by other leaders as a peer. And there is a risk of being publicly humiliated if one of them is critical of him or refuses to see him, or something. Aided and abetted by the foreign press who have not been kind to him at all and are bound to ask uncomfortable questions If he stays home, he can just pretend everybody loves him.

(19,193 posts)They can't get him to read the PDBs, but it's ALWAYS the same stuff, regurgitated over and over. The ennui of the Presidency!
Unless he sees it on FOX "News", it doesn't exist. His intellectual void is well known, yet he thinks he knows everything. Who's going to hold his hand and explain all the big words the grownups in the middle-east will use to describe the situation there? Oh, that's right, he already knows all that stuff. It's boring.

(5,166 posts)While campaigning, he flew back to NYC most evenings so that he could sleep (a few hours) in his own bed.
I imagine he's just gotten used to the White House bed, and now they want to interrupt his sleep again.
If it were any but 45, I'd have sympathy, but he gets none from me.

They're not going to screw up a chance to make a diplomatic connection with the President of the United States, just because you once said that they were losers. Also, so what if you passed intelligence, shared with us by the Israelis, to the Russians? After all, Mossad is really a most benign organization. "

(19,193 posts)the White House? He spends every weekend at one of his properties (gotta' steal the taxpayers' money!) playing golf, or going to rally's where his supporters grovel at his feet, and hail him as the most important person in the UNIVERSE!
He's not going to like this at all. He's going to have to SEE people who don't like him, and they'll tell him so. That's VERY unlike home, where's he only shown people who L-O-V-E him! This is not going to go well. I guarantee it.
