Wilbur Ross is happy that the Saudis didn't protest Trump — but he misses a critical point

they think SA is great. Women know their place. People lose their hands for getting too uppity. Lazy ungrateful immigrant workers die on construction sites. People get to be enslaved as domestic help.

They would have to overturn it to do that, and it would be war if they even attempted to.

Congress shall make law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

They wouldn't hesitate to fix that "drafting error" or "typo" to make America great again.

Last I checked, free speech is more popular than Jesus in this country. If you were to take away people's basic right to free speech, protests, and religion, all hell would break loose.

other folks find that strong authoritarian leadership has gotten more popular and they would like to put us in our place as painfully as possible. They would like us to be literally bleeding hearts.

Trump's win proved millions of Americans have lost their frickin minds.

The thing is, most coups are made with small steps, like Erdogan, who was democratically elected, but he is taking his country into a dictatorship. This is happening here too.

Freedom to publicly practice Christianity is not guaranteed in Saudi Arabia. Prior to the 1991 Invasion of Iraq, the U. S. forces stationed in Saudi Arabia were told to be discreet in Christian worship practices, including those on Christmas Day 1990. At that time, and continuing to this day, there are no Christian churches in Saudi Arabia.

By contrast, in Iraq on Christmas Day 1990, Christian churchgoers, exiting worship services and Catholic Masses held at churches in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities, freely gave interviews to American television reporters who asked them about the prospects of war.

On edit: (1) correction of Iraq invasion year; and (2) addition of information regarding absence of churches in Saudi Arabia and presence of churches in Iraq.

We shouldn't dismiss this as error, or confusion by Ross.

Ross's statement makes it very clear:
Ross and Trump want America to be a dictatorship, ruled by the wealthy.

Their other actions - attacking the press, muslim ban, propaganda, blatant lies, funding the military, beefing up ICE raids, gerrymandering, voter suppression - confirm this administration (and GOP donors) want an autocracy in America. They are pushing for a one-party country. We have about a year to rescue America.

Even as he is falling down, he is destroying. Most Republicans don't really care that much, which is why the stock market is still okay. They say, the worst that could happen is they get Pence, which might be better anyway.
Many see it as win, win. They don't realize that Pence has his own problems. Geez, we have to go through so many to get someone decent. Even Pence, gets to select his VP.

they use to behead political protesters! Wilbur Ross should of done his homework before he went dancing with the swords,,,,as for trump the so called president ,,,omg what a fool he made of himself ,,,just two years ago he said he would never deal with the Saudi's ,,,as they were the ones who caused 9/11 and would never take a penny from them,,,and told Clinton she should give the money back to the Saudi's who contributed to Clinton Foundation! So what does he do? He gets 20 billion from the Saudi's to help build our infrastructure? Really? Ivanka gets 100 million for the so called women's cause?? And SAUDI gets 110 billion in weapons plus another 240 billion when they get the first drop!!

This so called president is a LIAR AND HYPOCRITE ,,,,,I can't wait until they put the bastard in jail!!!
