(3,847 posts)Her original push to Fascism. 2 of her points really jumped out at me, the "Know Your History" comment. Teachers don't have the ability or materials to actually teach world history or modern history. Kids have NO clue what the hell has happened as far back as 50 years ago. They aren't being analytical thinking. Kind have no idea how to figure even the obvious out any longer. Taking their electronics away might be a start.
She also hit me with her "Advance the Counter Plan" idea, where has the DNC or the DCCC been? The idea that a democratic candidate withdrew from a race she had a good chance of winning is inconcievable to me. Why was this covered as much a an idiotic tweet? Why didn't the local press go after these hometown terrorists? Why didn't the DNC & DCCC pay for protection? Show these pyschos they can't get away with this shit.

(4,192 posts)The United States is extensively large and diverse. What a single country does in the Middle East and Europe I do not believe is possible in the US except on a state level. For example, the protests after tRump took office (eh, hem... lied, cheated and stole his way to it) were effective but not enough, why. Because if the media doesn't cover it sufficiently then what happens in DC, New York, or LA is hardly a blip on the radar for most people throughput the rest of the country. And they have very little to remind them of these great actions on the coasts.
Sometimes it seems our "United" States is being used as a divide-and-conquer strategy rather than a unifying principle. The ones who really need to see the people in the streets are all these very comfortable people throughout the middle parts of this country but it's too easy for them to ignore even the largest of demonstrations (such as the Women's March this year). That's why what we do locally is so damn important.
