(512 posts)Thank you for posting this! John Sweeney's BBC documentaries are often riveting. I encourage people to watch his one regarding Scientology.
BTW, I apologise for the thread drift!

(31,464 posts)I can tell by your thousands of posts, and all the deep insight you provided in rebutting the points you believe are false, that there is no chance you're just a Romney supporter dropping by to attempt some damage control.
Have a nice day!

(36,988 posts)Watch it..... its only the BBC.... I have other videos but they are much more radical
and not by the BBC.
So watch and repudiate it.... I found it tame, but DU knows me...LOL

(31,464 posts)Not you. To the guy who called it a "BBC Hit Piece."

(5,390 posts)The spokesman for the church denied and then recanted his denials when confronted with facts.
When questioned about certain practices of the church, he first denied them and then stated we don't do that anymore.
Which is it? Either they never shunned or spied, or when caught they given up doing those things.

(10,952 posts)learning Mandarin are being interviewed, the part where the young lady mentions that the religion is huge on accepting others. What a bunch of BS. Romney comes across as being a bigot not a person who loves, respects and accepts others.

(45,319 posts)or did she just work hard to remove civil rights from others with time and money? That young lady is a vicious liar.

(45,319 posts)This is your second comment in thread and on DU. I note you somehow can not manage more than a whine, no specifics, no cites, just a characterization of the piece. Worthless yammering from a stranger is not very persuasive. The BBC is perhaps the world's most respected broadcasting entity. And you are?

That would depend on what you eat during the rest of the week.

(10,952 posts)They baptised Anne Frank 10 time. I guess they think if at first you don't succeed try try again.
Now we know where Romney got his arrogance.

(4,695 posts)from the Old Testament in the Bible. And where are the baptismal ceremonies held? Can contacts with demons/familiar spirits be made at the Bishop level? Or does it take an Apostle.
Mormons were legally killed in Missouri in the 1830s. Feel free to research. In the 1830s this cult referred to Christians as Paulites. According to the New Testament, Paul was the only Apostle chosen by the Risen Jesus Christ. Many Jews do not believe that Jesus Christ of the New Testament, is the Savior. Some think the Savior has yet to be born. Do Mormons believe baptism after death can move a spirit from the telestial kingdom to the celestial kingdom?
Christians have moved away from the teaching of Moses and Paul to keep Church or Faith and State or Law, separate.
The protestant Dallas pastor in the video, could possibly shed some light on this ceremony.

(9,696 posts)I learned a lot about the mormon religion which gives me even greater concern that as a mormon, romeny would not be able to hold office of the presidency without inflicting his religion on the rest of Americans.
It brings up the important point that in America we don't questions someone's religion (unless you're Barack Obama...) and how the beliefs of the candidate might clash with their ability to hold office.
I'd like to hear more from Park Romney...who knew there was a likeable Romeny?
