1. Boston may not be "my town"
But I lived there for 2 years, and STILL--now over 30 years later--go back to the area for my summer vacation. Still love New England, southern boy that I am. For that matter, The Standells were from L.A. and about as far from Boston as you could get and still be in the lower 48.

3. Love that old 60s song.
The Standells. This was a time when any song over three minutes long was considered "too long" for the AM radio stations. They definitely had a British sound, an Eric Burden and the Animals bluesy style. That used to be a standard in our "garage" band of the day (The Humans), with myself as front man and vocalist.
I remember those exciting days like it was yesterday. It was a great time to be young and American. Then came Vietnam. Damn, I'm getting old. ![]() |

4. This brings me back a ways.
Very simple and it worked. It's a far cry from todays over engineered pop. It's got that crude dirty feel to it that all the equipment in the world can't make. In other words it sounds real.
