and each time school was closed for a week. They both occurred in Oct. Some of the teachers also lost their homes. Ashes came out of the sky the size of potatoes chips and it looked like sunset all day from the diffused light. One fire crossed 12 lanes of freeways near my school and stopped a few miles before it burned to the ocean when the winds suddenly died down.
With the tons of rain from the past winter there is so much new vegetation and fuel it will be another bad fire season.
