The news stories I have read indicate that the fireball meteor was seen September 4, at about 10:14 PM. Here is an excerpt from the news story at http://globalnews.ca/news/3718712/fireball-meteor-british-columbia-alberta-light-sky/ :
The AMS said it received over 100 reports of the fireball from places in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan as well as from Washington, Idaho, and Montana.
. . .
According to our latest estimated trajectory, the fireball traveled in a southeast to northwest direction entering the atmosphere near the small city of Boswell and terminating near Meadow Creek, British Columbia.
. . .
The AMS website which is referred to in the excerpt receives and analyzes reports of meteor sightings. A few years ago, a meteor with a green color, like that of this meteor, crossed over the skies of Pennsylvania and surrounding states. That meteor generated many reports on the AMS website. I was fortunate enough to have witnessed the meteor, and I posted my report.
I have never been nearby when a meteor made its final approach and exploded in the atmosphere. The loud explosion was certainly starling to those Canadian residents who heard it near its final descent in British Columbia.
