In 1957, on radio station KJR. And I am still blown away by it.

The El Dorado used to have a sweet little show room on the main floor, and we enjoyed them, Rare Earth, The Righteous Brothers, and so many more.
God, those were great times!

Used to be The Riverboat just across the street from The Comstock, and Freddie's Fabulous Fifties on the other corner.
Saw The Crests at another club a little further out down the street that The Sands and The Sundowner were on...forget the name of the place. Saw The Byrds at Sammy's Showroom at The Harrahs.
You're right. Entertainment was obtainable back then. One night one of The Righteous Brothers, I forget his name (the taller dark hair fellow) was singing on the main floor stage.
One of my life's regrets was not springing with the $40 it cost to go see Ray Charles at The Nugget.
"Those were 'The Good Old Days'". Damn, they were some great ones.
