That's not an action of leadership. Neither is disparaging the party for not opening its doors to Independents. It not only opened its doors to Bernie, it allowed him to run for the Presidential nomination. And he repaid the party by leaving it.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday night that he still does not consider himself a Democrat despite taking part in a Democratic National Committee (DNC) unity tour with the party's new chairman, Tom Perez.

"No, I'm an Independent," Sanders said when asked by MSNBC's Chris Hayes whether he now identifies as a Democrat.

"If the Democratic Party is going to succeed — and I want to see it succeed — it's gonna have to open its door to independents," he continued.

By the way, only about 2 minutes of this 8 plus minute interview is on Clinton's book.

I really like Hillary, too. She needs to be in government. She is no show horse and neither is Bernie. They are both extremely focused and hard workers. They should not be at odds with each other. They should be working together and I think they will soon. We need to help our country withstand this Republican dismantling of our democratic socialist society. Stand together Democrats and Progressives. We need to march on together.

"I talked about a $15 dollar minimum wage. Hillary did not."

Really?!?

https://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/plan-raise-american-incomes/

"Hillary believes we are long overdue in raising the minimum wage. She has supported raising the federal minimum wage to $12, and believes that we should go further than the federal minimum through state and local efforts, and workers organizing and bargaining for higher wages, such as the Fight for $15 and recent efforts in Los Angeles and New York to raise their minimum wage to $15."

...

In June 2015, early on in her campaign, Clinton spoke with a gathering of Fight for $15 members via phone and told them she supported their campaign.

"All of you should not have to march in the streets to get a living wage, but thank you for marching in the streets to get that living wage," she said, according to the Washington Post.

Her support for the $12 minimum wage proposal had everything to do with it being more politically feasible.

"Let’s not just do it for the sake of having a higher number out there. But let’s get behind a proposal that actually has a chance of succeeding," she said, according to New York Times.

So. Hillary Clinton DID talk about a $15 dollar minimum wage, in more expensive areas of the country that obviously need it. She supported $12 as a strategy to get something through congress.

The irony of Sanders blatant misrepresentation of Hillary Clinton here is that it comes in response to a quote from Hillary's book, which read:

No matter how bold and progressive my policy proposals were... Bernie would come out with something bigger, loftier, leftier, regardless of whether it was realistic or not.

John Sullivan, my top policy advisor, tole me it reminded him of a scene from the 1998 movie There's Something About Mary. A deranged hitchhiker says he's come up with a brilliant plan. Instead of the famous "eight-minute abs" exervise routine, he's going to market "seven-minute abs." It's the same, just quicker.

Way to go illustrating her point perfectly, Senator Sanders. You couldn't have given a better example if you'd actually meant to do it that way.

And here why it matters now. Sanders IS STILL DOING THIS. Misrepresenting Democrats and attacking us.

The primary is over, but his behavior is still intended to drive people out of the Democratic coalition.

This is why, though I actually agree with more of his positions than I do more centrist ones, I can't stand what he's doing to our party.

If you want to claim she talked about it in response to Sanders getting popularity with it, you need to come up with actual facts.

And once again - this is EXACTLY what Hillary was talking about. Sanders pandering with grandiose promises, regardless of whether it was politically or economically feasible, just to be able to bash anyone else who backs a plan that could actually be achieved.

Politifact: MOSTLY FALSE - Bernie Sanders says minimum wage hike to $15 would reduce federal assistance by $7.6 billion a year

He did it to Hillary in the primary. He's still doing it to Democrats now.
