(51,584 posts)and I looked to see if this was tonight's show after that idiot's remark about his house in the Keys. I am astounded that he said something SO stupid. Is this from tonight's show? I do not get HBO and have to wait for it to be posted here or on You Tube.

(10,495 posts)would be underwater within a few short years when that was not a true statement. They never said it would happen that fast but that is why he thinks he is right. As Bill says, "You are in the bubble!"

(53,764 posts)I'm sure Tyson is not still saying "global warming" now.
My take is it had to be several years ago.
Looks like 2012. Cheers.

the climate is changing
for global warming to exist it has to be getting warmer every where

(37,648 posts)Global warming was how it used to be referred to, in layman's terms. But the Republicans kept saying "it's not getting warmer! See, over here we are having record snows where it never snowed before!" Republicans were admitting "climate change," and that's what they called it. Now, everyone calls it climate change, which is more accurate, probably.
But the phenomenon is that the earth is getting warmer, like a terrarium, because of the messed up ozone layer and/or other atmospheric bubbles around the earth. When the earth gets warmer, that does not mean every place is warmer. As the oceans get warmer, it causes disturbances and erratic weather systems, so that places that never snowed, now snow, and places that never flooded, now flood, etc.
The Republicans' position, as I recall, has always been it's a natural occurrence that has happened through the earth's history. We had an Ice Age, followed by a not-Ice-Age when the glaciers melted, and the like. They don't think humans are contributing to it, much less causing it.
